Which embroidery colours were on 1940s and 1950s pillow cases?

I bought some hot iron transfers to use for a wedding gift, but the illustrations are black and white. Most are florals, so I need to choose some greens. The bride likes purples and the groom hates yellows.
Please name some DMC colours.
Were no muted colors used, like DMC’s antique mauves and antique blues?
